Schloss Mauerbach

Route 2024 will take place at Schloss Mauerbach.

The address is:

Herzog-Friedrich-Platz 1, 3001 Mauerbach, Lower Austria (Google maps link)

The location is approx. 20km north-west of the center of Vienna.

How to get there?

 

coming from Vienna:

  • Take underground U4 (green line) to its final destination "Hütteldorf".
  • When you arrived at "Hütteldorf" take the exit "Keißlergasse" and change to bus 450.
  • You enter the bus 450 at its very first stop, and take it to its final destination. Ride time on the bus 450 is approx. 25 minutes.

The destination is not included in the Vienna transport zone. Buy a ticket at the vending machines; one way from the city center to "Mauerbach Busbahnhof"/"Mauerbach Volksschule" is € 4,40. You can also buy via ÖBB website: select "From: Wien" and "To: Mauerbach"

Depending on day and time, the final destination is either "Mauerbach Busbahnhof" or "Mauerbach Volksschule", but both stops are very close to the Venue:

Arriving on Sunday

Ride time on bus 450 from "Hütteldorf" to the Venue "Schloss Mauerbach" (final destination, "Mauerbach Busbahnhof") is approx. 25 minutes.

Getting to Vienna

Vienna International Airport VIE is located in Schwechat, approx. 25km south-east of the city center of Vienna, and approx. 40km south-east from the Venue Schloss Mauerbach. There are several modes of transport available to get to Vienna - all of them connected to the green underground line U4, which you can use to go on to the Venue "Schloss Mauerbach", (see above "coming from Vienna").

Trains (Schnellbahn, S-Bahn, blue) go to the city, i.e. "Landstraße-Wien Mitte" at least every 30 minutes; the ride takes 19 - 23 minutes, full price ticket one way is € 4,40 to the city center, or € 5.- to the Venue; select "Mauerbach Busbahnhof" as destination at the vending machine. You can also buy via ÖBB website: select "From: VIE (Vienna International Airport)" and "To: Mauerbach". If you also buy or have a ticket for Vienna public transport, the additional price for one-way from/to airport is € 2.-, see "getting around" below. Get your tickets at the vending machines close to the train station. If you like to go on to the Venue Schloss Mauerbach, change to green underground line U4; see above "coming from Vienna".

Direct trains (CAT, City Airport Train, green) also go to the city, i.e. "Landstraße-Wien Mitte" every 30 minutes; the ride takes 16 minutes, full price ticket one-way is € 14,90 to the city center, where you have to buy another ticket to Mauerbach. Get your tickets at the green vending machines already at baggage claim. If you like to go on to the Venue Schloss Mauerbach, change to green underground line U4; see above "coming from Vienna".

Buses (Vienna Airport Lines) go to the city center ("Schwedenplatz/Morzinplatz"), main train station ("Hautbahnhof") or west train station ("Westbahnhof") every 30 minutes, one-way € 10,50. If you like to go on to the Venue Schloss Mauerbach, go to "Schwedenplatz/Morzinplatz", buy another ticket to Mauerbach and change to green underground line U4. (see above "coming from Vienna")

Taxi: Ride time from the airport to the Venue Schloss Mauerbach is about 60 minutes and will be around € 60.- to € 100.- more

Please check your options of transport if you arrive very early or late at night. Trains and buses do not operate 24/7.


Arrival by train

Vienna is well-connected to the international rail network. International trains arrive either at "WienHauptbahnhof" railway station or at "Wien Westbahnhof" railway station. From there you can take the underground and buses.

Train station "Wien Hauptbahnhof"

- U1 (red line) to "Schwedenplatz", change to U4 (green line) to final destination "Hütteldorf", from Hütteldorf ÖBB bus 450 to Mauerbach, 5 minutes walk. (see above "coming from Vienna")

Train station "Wien Westbanhof"

U6 (brown line) to "Längenfeldgasse", change to U4 (green line) to final destination "Hütteldorf", from Hütteldorf ÖBB bus 450 to Mauerbach, 5 minutes walk. (see above "coming from Vienna")

Moving around in Vienna

Public transport

Vienna has an efficient public transportation system.

You can easily purchase tickets at the ticket machines in Vienna, located at larger stops and stations across Vienna or online.

The 72-h Vienna ticket (17.10€) is an economic way of moving around in Vienna.

For those who plan to do some sightseeing while they are in Vienna, the Vienna Card (29.00€) might be the right choice. It is also valid for 72 hours and entitles you to reduced rates when visiting museums, exhibitions, etc. You can buy the Vienna Card at the airport, in most hotels or order it online.

Visa requirements

You may need a visa to come to Austria. Please check this on the Government of Austria website for more information. Please pay attention to the visa processing time.
